Legion mode ( Passive )
Passive mode is an option for those who are interested in Dystopi but do not want to participate as active players. However, it is also useful for active players, as the time they spend not actively playing does not go to waste in terms of token acquisition. In Legion mode, players can send their characters to different parts of the map to fight in their absence, in exchange for tokens. The prerequisite for passive combat is that the character has an adequate amount of supplies and that the weapons, armor, and other items they use are in good condition. In Legion mode, the amount of supplies used during a given time and the wear and tear on equipment can be precisely calculated, so players can know when their character will return and when they can send them back into the Legion.
Open World ( Active )
This player versus environment mode is where players face off against non-player characters instead of other players in an open maps of Dystopi. Players may be solo or cooperate in exploring the game world, completing quests, or fighting NPCs. Characters typically level up and improve their character's abilities by completing quests, battling enemies, and collecting treasures in this mode. Free play allows players to play at their own pace, explore the game world, and enjoy gameplay without the need to compete with other players. PvE modes are the most popular game modes in a couple of computer game genres, especially in MMORPGs like World of Warcraft, the Final Fantasy series, or Lost Ark.
Dungeons & Raids ( Active )
Dungeons and raids are commonly used in role-playing games as a challenging, restricted part of the map, where enemies are stronger than of those out in the open world. It is common for players and teams to compete in completing dungeons and raids: the goal is usually to complete the challenge or a specific part of it in as short a time as possible.
A dungeon is usually a shorter, enclosed area with a couple challenges and tasks. Typically a smaller group of players play together in a dungeon, aiming to overcome all obstacles and earn the final reward. Dungeons can be smaller, single-level locations or multi-level labyrinths.
A raid is usually a larger, more challenging area, that only the highest-level players can access. Raids typically require more preparation and players than dungeons, and typically have multiple stages, with different challenges to face in each stage, such as bosses and hordes that are hard to overcome. Raids usually offer greater rewards than dungeons and can earn players reputation and rare items.
Both game modes aim to foster cooperation and strategic thinking, as well as the enjoyment of challenges and rewards.
Battle Royale ( Active )
The battle royale mode is a player versus player mode where multiple players compete against each other. In this mode, players start off on a transport vehicle and can jump off at any time. Everyone starts with an empty talent tree, like they would start the game with a brand new character and without any equipment. Gear can be found on the map but there are limited numbers and they are placed randomly. Every round, the playable area shrinks and the outside becomes a damage zone. In each round, the remaining players receive talent points, which they can distribute on their character's talent tree according to their own strategy. Also defeating enemy players rewards with talent points, so as the game progresses, characters and the equipment they can find on the map become stronger and stronger. The goal is to eliminate all the enemy teams and players and be the last standing!
Arena ( Active )
The Arena Mode is a team-vs-team cooperative mode in which players fight against each other for a couple of rounds. At the beginning of each round, they can choose which NFTs they want to use from their collection, allowing them to change their strategy throughout the game. The values of the NFTs used here are normalized, so there is no difference between the values of a Common and a Legendary item, unlike in the PVE modes. This ensures fair play, as the difference in the amounts paid for NFTs does not affect gameplay. However, the characters' level of development achieved in free play mode counts, allowing similarly developed players to compete with each other. The Arena mode can even be played with stakes, which the winning team receives.
Jobs ( Active )
Jobs is essentially part of the Open World, but it is separate from regular free play. The player can activate the job mode by activating the NFT associated with their profession within the open world. These jobs are all related to maintaining the economy: traders, protectors, and renegades all have different roles. Traders have the task of transporting goods between cities, farms, salt mines, and mines, for which they receive tokens if they reach their destination successfully. Protectors have to protect traders and helping to deliver the shipment, and they share the reward with the traders. Renegades try to prevent the trade and steal the goods, which they must deliver to their own city for a reward.
